# Privacy notice

Reading physics.ndot.io needs no data from you. The only personal data we handle is the e-mail address of the readers who join the readers' list. This notice says what happens to it.

## Who is responsible

nDot.io / In.Pro.Pre Ltd. (registered name: In.Pro.Pre Kft.), 2083 Solymár, Cserje utca 16, Hungary (the controller). nDot.io is a brand of In.Pro.Pre Kft.; all company details are in the [legal notice of ndot.io](https://ndot.io/imprint.html). Contact: ivan.honis@ndot.io.

## The readers' list

- **What we keep:** your e-mail address, the time you confirmed it, the page of the site from which you joined, and the version of the text you agreed to.
- **Why:** to write to you when a new stage or a correction of the research is published. Nothing else.
- **Legal basis:** your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give by joining. Joining is voluntary: every page of the site can be read without it.
- **How long:** until you leave the list. Then your address is deleted from it.
- **How to leave:** with the link in the e-mail you get when you join, or by writing to the contact address above.
- **Who gets your address:** nobody else. The list is not sold, not shared and not used for anything else.

## How joining works

When you ask to join, we send a 6-digit code to the address you typed, to make sure that it is yours. If you do not type the code back within 15 minutes, the address is not stored.

The site is hosted by Hostinger. Its servers send the e-mails and hold a confirmed joining for a short time; from there it is moved to the controller's own computer, where the list is kept, and deleted from the server. When a notification is sent, the addresses are copied to the server for the time of the sending and deleted there as each e-mail goes out.

To limit abuse, the site counts the requests for a code per address and per network address for an hour. It does not store these addresses for this, only codes made from them that cannot be turned back (keyed hashes), and it deletes the counters within two days.

## Cookies and what your browser remembers

- While you join, a session cookie (`rl`) keeps the step with the code together. It holds no personal data and disappears when you close the browser.
- After you have joined, your browser remembers this (in its local storage), so that the invitation does not open again. This note stays in your browser and is not sent to us.
- The site sets no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

## What else your browser sends

- The pages load fonts from Google Fonts and script libraries from the content delivery network jsDelivr. When your browser fetches these files, those providers see your network (IP) address.
- The hosting provider keeps access logs (network address, time, requested page) for the operation and security of the server.

## Your rights

You can ask what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and withdraw your consent at any time by leaving the list. If you think your data is handled unlawfully, you can complain to the data protection authority of your country; in Hungary this is the Nemzeti Adatvédelmi és Információszabadság Hatóság (naih.hu).
